I am thrilled to reveal Ullstein’s cover to the hardback edition of Worte in Meiner Hand —
The design has evolved over the past couple of months – colours adjusted, fonts swapped – until the final cover was arrived at. I think it is direct and engaging, and I particularly like the use of blue. Blue, for centuries the most precious of colours, was reserved for the most important subjects or portraits – until modern manufacturing methods enabled mass production of synthetic paints. How fine then that blue should be used here to such good effect to present Helena, a woman dismissed of being of no importance, and whose story my novel reveals.
The hardback edition comes with a wrap-around banderole —
lovely! — or should I say schön!
